Tiger beer, rise

Irish advertising took a huge step forward this month as
Rothco scores a first with global account for non-Irish brand

"Rothco was asked last year to pitch for the global business of Tiger Beer, which is part of Heineken-owned Asia Pacific Breweries, based in Singapore. The agency pitched against six others, including big international players like Y&R and Ogilvy and, in winning the account, made Irish advertising history.
“We seem to be the first Irish agency to win a global account for a non-Irish brand when were chosen as the lead global creative agency for Tiger Beer,” says Rothco partner and client director Richard Carr." read more about it, follow the link:

''A resident of Wolverhampton in the West MidlandsEngland, Wilkinson developed a passion for experimental music during his time at Middlesex University in London, where he studied "sonic arts". He developed his own style of music, drawing from contemporary experimental electronicabands such as Boards of Canada, and incorporating field recordings and found sounds. Electronically modified guitar melodies and droning synthesizer sounds are a recurring theme in his pieces, causing many people to label his music as a hybrid of electronica or intelligent dance musicand folk music. His music has recently been licensed for commercial campaigns by L.L. BeanAdult SwimToyota, and Amazon.com. His song, "Lovers' Carvings," was featured in the first Google Project Glass commercial.
In 2009, he contributed a cover of the Boards of Canada track "Kaini Industries" to the Warp20 (Recreated) compilation.
Part of the track "Cry! Baby!" (from the album Ambivalence Avenue) was used over the end-title sequence of the Louis Theroux documentary "Miami Mega Jails".''

These lads have had some major success in licensing their songs out for commercial use. They've dominated the Irish ads over the last couple of years.
""Something Good Can Work" and "Undercover Martyn" featured on television advertisements for Vodafone and Meteor.

A television commercial for Designers at Debenhams, in which designers, Henry Holland, Jasper Conran and Julien Macdonald display their new season range for "Autumn 2012", features the song, "This Is The Life"; the song had been used in previous Designers at Debenhams advertisements.[17]

Ad Trivia
If you’ve had the TV on today you’ve probably seen footage of a familiar looking hound and his toy rabbit.
Harvey the dog, who was the star of 2010’s ad of the year for ITV, made his first appearance in a heart-warming clip which saw him ironing, cooking, mowing the lawn and taking the kids to school in order to persuade a couple to adopt him from a dogs' home.
